Resident Evil 2: How to Get Treasure Hunter Achievement

Resident Evil 2 has plenty of hidden unlockables and collectibles to look for in order to fully enjoy everything that the game has to offer. One of these doubles as an achievement on Xbox One and a Trophy on PS4, called Treasure Hunter. Here’s how to unlock it and score some sweet loot at the same time.

Resident Evil 2 players will be able to access this achievement once they’ve entered the sewers underneath the RPD. After getting the T-Bar Valve Handle, head to the Workroom Lift on the bottom floor. Insert the T-Bar Valve Handle at the locked door. Once opened, head through the room and hop onto the lift and ride it to the upper floor.

After exiting the lift, pick up the film roll sitting in the center of a table in the room. The undeveloped film roll is titled “Hiding Place.” Players will then need to backtrack considerably and head back up to the Raccoon Police Station to access the dark room to develop the roll.

Developing the roll reveals two photos of locations around the RPD that contain hidden collectibles. The bottom photo’s location is closer to the Dark Room, so head over to the Press Room on the first floor of the RPD. In the corner is a table with a boombox on top, as shown in the photo. Open the drawer for the reward, which will either be Needle Cartridges for Claire or Flamethrower fuel for Leon.

The top photo depicts the S.T.A.R.S. office, which is on the west side of the second floor of the RPD. Once inside, enter the private office within and check the bottom desk drawer for the second pick-up, a wooden box. The player can open it by examining it on the inventory screen. The box will contain an extended magazine for Claire’s SMG, or a Red Dot Sight for Leon’s Lightning Hawk magnum, depending on the character currently being played.

With the second pick-up complete, the achievement/trophy should automatically be unlocked on-screen. With that achievement out of the way, check out the Resident Evil 2 Unlockable guide to get everything else that the game has to offer.

Resident Evil 2 is available now for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
