Fallout 76 Patch Reintroduces Old Bugs

There’s no doubt that myriad gamers are well aware of Fallout 76‘s rough launch last year due to the nearly unplayable state the game was in shortly after its release to the public. Since then, Bethesda has been attempting to provide a bevy of fixes, with the most recent patch having aimed at countering item duplication, incorporating changes that would make the title run at a stabler clip, and more. Unfortunately, though, it looks as if the company’s latest update has wound up reintroducing some old bugs instead of outright helping to fix the online multiplayer game.

According to the Redditor and Fallout 76 player dubbed “gX-kiD”, the title’s update that rolled out on January 29, 2019 revived certain issues that were once thought to be resolved, with bobby pin weight having been re-upped to their original values, fusion core spawn rates having apparently become too low, and item duping supposedly still being in full effect. What’s more is that there seems to be a new bulk crafting bug that causes the inability to use any bulk junk towards repairing or crafting.

The last F76 patch is a disaster & Bethesda now silently deletes/removes threads & users from their forum over it from Fallout

As found on different threads for the Fallout 76 subreddit, a Bethesda community manager has replied to say that the developers have been made aware of these issues, but as of yet, there has been no official announcement in regards to any fixes being on the way. That said, it’s important to note that some patches can occasionally cause old issues to rear their ugly heads once more, which can especially be the case when it comes to games as a service.

Taking everything here into consideration, there’s a good chance that this resurgence of old bugs and introduction of new ones in Fallout 76 will be disappointing to many players, and will end up dissuading others from following through with a purchase until the title is fixed. At any rate, Bethesda will hopefully be able to bring about a fresh update soon so as to get the game in working order.

Fallout 76 is available for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
