Dragon Ball FighterZ Teases Vegito as Next DLC Fighter

Dragon Ball FighterZ Teases Vegito as Next DLC Fighter

Taking to Twitter, Bandai Namco US posted a cryptic teaser for the next DLC fighter joining the Dragon Ball FighterZ‘s Roster. While Fused Zamasu has been officially revealed to be one of the next DLC fighters joining the 2.5D fighting game, the previous DLC introduced a pair of fighters: Bardock and Broly. The idea that Fused Zamasu wouldn’t be the only upcoming fighter has been prevalent for some time, but the latest teaser practically confirms Vegito after a recent trailer also teased his inclusion.

The tweet displayed the main screen of Dragon Ball FighterZ with an attached sticky note that reads “092680628.” It took quite some time for the meaning of the mysterious line of digits to be discovered, with even Funimation’s Twitter account being perplexed, but one Twitter user — Michael Sherrard — figured it out.

Sherrard was able to deduce that the numbers teased the introduction of Vegito, the popular fusion of Vegeta and Goku. Vegito was first seen in Season 9 episode 268 of Dragon Ball Z and that episode aired on June 28 many years ago. When reduced to numerical values, the aforementioned episode and release date give the exact numbers teased: 09 (season), 268 (episode), 0628 (release date).

Bandai Namco confirmed Sherrard’s discovery, which may have excited the fanbase. It is practical confirmation that, like Broly and Bardock, Fused Zamasu and Vegito will be the next pair joining Dragon Ball FighterZ. Notably, however, Sherrard was incorrect in one of his deductions. He thought that Zamasu and Vegito would release on June 28 in honor of Vegito’s introduction to the popular anime, but Bandai shot this down, which hopefully means the next DLC fighters are coming sooner than expected.

For now, the release date for the duo has yet to be revealed, but many believe it’ll be by the end of May. Whatever the case, the characters will likely release before EVO 2018, which takes place in August. Considering Dragon Ball FighterZ is the most popular game for the event, the creators may want to have a strong presence with several fighters.

Dragon Ball FighterZ is available now for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
