MK11 Gameplay Trailer Highlights Cassie Cage

MK11 Gameplay Trailer Highlights Cassie Cage

Not too long ago, the video game developer NetherRealm Studios released a story trailer which confirmed that the likes of Erron Black, Jacqui Briggs, and Cassie Cage would be making their return in the forthcoming fighting game Mortal Kombat 11. Now, the company has decided to release a fresh piece of gameplay footage that highlights the daughter of Sonya Blade and Johnny Cage in action, with Cassie Cage taking center stage in combat.

Unlike with previous Mortal Kombat 11 fighter trailers which showcase a given character taking on a handful of different brawlers, this one featuring Cassie Cage focuses on her doing battle with one of the series’ original roster members, Kano. Most of Cassie’s moves and combos revolve around her proficiency with martial arts and handguns, while also showcasing some of the supernatural abilities she picked up from her father, Johnny Cage.

Several of Cassie’s moves also play off of a floating helper drone of some kind, which can shoot a searing laser beam at opponents, and can be used to ram into another combatant for an added combo variable. Also, as is generally the case with the entire roster of Mortal Kombat 11, Cassie has the capacity to pull of an absolutely brutal, albeit cartoonish Fatality, as she’s seen shooting Kano full of holes, and then kicking him in the groin to send his skeleton shooting out of the top of his body.

For those unaware, Cassie Cage recently showed up on a full roster leak for Mortal Kombat 11, with Jacqui Briggs and Erron Black having also been listed as playable characters in the forthcoming fighting game. Since all three characters have now been confirmed for the title, it definitely points to the leaked list potentially being real, if not just containing some solid guesses as to what other fighters will be filling out the cast.

All things considered, it will be interesting to see how MK fans respond to what Cassie Cage brings to the table insofar as her moves are concerned, and if even more of the colloquially dubbed Kombat Kids from MKX will be joining the roster, too. Of course, with Mortal Kombat 11 set to debut next month, we will simply have to wait and see who’s next when it comes to the rest of the playable characters.

Mortal Kombat 11 is scheduled to release on April 23, 2019 for PC, PlayStation 4, Switch, and Xbox One.
