A couple of days ago, Far Cry 5 developer Ubisoft unveiled a new trailer for its upcoming DLC, Dead Living Zombies. This DLC follows the release of the Lost On Mars DLC as part of the game’s season pass that promised players Vietnam, Outer Space, and Zombies. Dead Living Zombies will be available on August 28 for season pass holders.
Although Aug 28 is its official release date, a few Xbox One players got lucky when the game accidentally released nearly two weeks early. Owners of either the Far Cry 5 Gold edition or Season Pass were able to download the game ahead of launch and are reportedly still able to play it, though it has since been deleted.
Nevertheless, for those who pick it up in the coming days, it should still be a wild ride. The game’s description promises, ” B-movie director Guy Marvel is destined to be the next big thing – just ask him. Join him in seven hilarious scenarios to take on hordes and hordes of the undead.” While the below teaser trailer doesn’t reveal much, fans of the franchise should look closely at the 0:36 mark:
That’s right, it seems this DLC will be the return of the popular Blood Dragon from the standalone expansion Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon, which is likely to excite longstanding fans of the franchise. While at least one scenario revolves around a Romeo and Juliet theme, the enemies revealed in this trailer gives us a glimpse at some exciting gameplay.
When Far Cry 5 first launched at the end of March 2018, it was so popular that it topped the month’s video game sales charts. Since then, the game has received continued support with events and a constant stream of DLC, with this latest DLC seemingly giving a unique spin to the sometimes overdone zombie genre. As this action-adventure RPG nears the end of its season pass content, tell us, Ranters, what have you thought about Far Cry 5‘s DLC?
Far Cry 5 is available now for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
