Ninja Signs Three-Book Deal With Publisher Random House

Tyler “Ninja” Blevins has accomplished quite a lot in his 28-year life, including having smashed multiple Twitch viewership records, and it appears that his list of accomplishments will continue to grow, as the Fortnite streamer has now signed a three-book deal with publisher Random House and Ten Speed Press. The deal includes a guide book, a notebook, and even a graphic novel.

Ninja: Get Good is a gaming guidebook, coming packed with tips and tricks from the streamer that should help readers grow their skills. It will be available in August alongside the Ninja Notebook, which comes with stickers and prompts written by the streamer. Finally, Ninja: The Most Dangerous Game will be the first in a series of graphic novels by Justin Jordan and artist Felipe Magaña, and is expected to be released in December, according to online bookseller Goodreads.

Needless to say, it does seem like the books will be heavily marketed towards children, specifically the Ninja Notebook. After all, Ninja understands his audience, and the streamer even caught fire for cursing less during streams as a way to make his content more appropriate for children. The only exception is the graphic novel, which could go a number of different ways.

The publishing deal certainly makes sense for all parties involved, as it seems like a surefire way to print money. Ninja’s popularity is absolutely mind-numbing, and he has even become mainstream enough to get a cover on ESPN Magazine. His popularity will likely be enough for Random House and Ten Speed Press to make a cozy little profit on the deal, even if Ninja’s cut is particularly high.

This deal opens the door for many other streamers too, and it wouldn’t be too surprising to see other major names get similar deals in the future. Whether those deals will be with streamers as family-friendly as Ninja or with more controversial icons, like Dr. Disrespect, remains to be seen, but there’s certainly enough room for multiple streamers to share in the potential success. For now though, Ninja should probably start storyboarding the other entries in his graphic novel series.
